Environment

When a tree falls in the woods it is not just sound. This is your environment talking to you. It has told you "be cautious, check what is around you" etc. The fear you feel instantly is your body acknowledging this conversation. Similarly, if you trip up in that same wood this is a conversation between the environment and the body. It says "look around, slow down, take some time to respect your surroundings." Of course this conversation does not have to be taken quite so literally to be understood properly. Your body works better in accordance to the environment you are in. They must be in harmony and the way to achieve this is with thought. It is patience, understanding and observance that will allow this co-operation to become most effective. Simply putting it down to 'a bad environment' or 'our clumsy nature' stops the conversation at small talk. Do not think that the mind is superior to the body or that the body is to the environment. They all must hold equal importance to allow them to be most connected.

Art and Mental Health

In my own experience I have found that being able to express anger and disgruntlement within the context of music or art allows easier access to other emotions that may be more constructive, powerful and positive.  This is the equivalent to fighting through the bushes and brambles at the top of a hill in order to witness the view.
