If you see a penny on the ground
Ignore it, ignore itAnd let the world go round
This selfless act
In actual fact
Could cause a chain of good events
The next man, comes along
He's lost his money and his wife
No silver tongue
No trade
No life
Could see a penny on the floor
Good luck, good luck
Pick it up, hope for more
This simple act, in actual fact
May cause a chain of good events
He's now gained his zeal, his drive
That man's heart now filled with hope
He can thrive
He can cope
But let's say that man ignored it too
Everyone was as selfless through and through
Until the floor had a copper lining
A waste of one hundred years of mining
Bad luck would be when it rained
People would slip and be caused pain
So then everyone could pick up a coin
The fortune can unite and join
Every adult on that day
Could now say
They're a penny richer than yesterday
Children could share their earnings
Buy toffee to overcome their yearnings
Fill sweet shops with lots of money
They'd have too much sugar
Find everything funny
Perhaps there's truth in what they say?
Pick up a coin, have good luck all day.
